‘Linje 14’ – a unique partnership with schools increasing interest in higher education within disadvantaged communities; a new method of reducing mental illness amongst teenage girls developed by researcher and physiotherapist Anna Duberg; and an electronic nose capable of detecting blood poisoning. These are just three of the many Örebro University innovations being launched on licensbanken.se – a website designed to connect innovation to industry and the community. The website is a collaboration between the universities of Örebro, Karlstad, Linnaeus and Mid-Sweden, through Swedish innovation agency, Fyrklövern. Focusing on unique innovations emerging from university research and development, licensbanken.se promotes ideas, products and services which are ‘oven-ready’ for production or use by businesses. ‘We’re providing a bridge between academia and society, making sure our research and its benefits are widely felt’, comments Mattias Jonsson, Head of Licensebank.se at Örebro. ‘The University is all about creating a rich environment for new ideas and innovation, and this website will help us raise awareness of our work and it’s potential for society and business. We hope the website will lead to licensing agreements, and attract exciting new partnerships and opportunities for Örebro.’
