SMDP for innovative procurements

The method SMDP (Structured MultiDisciplinary Process) can be briefly described as a well-structured process approach that includes all aspects of the special distributed collaboration, but which tools and methods are equally good if you sit in the same place. It has a solid practice and research background and takes a holistic approach to how people best work together, using modern distributed tools.

It has a solid practice and research background and takes a holistic approach to how people best work together, using modern distributed tools.

Mid Sweden University has under 15 years, in collaboration with the Research Foundation TISP and NTNU (the Norwegian University of Technology) in Trondheim, developed tools and methods to better distributed collaboration (denoted SMDP – Structured MultiDisciplinary Process). We have different research / development project further developed the process method CCD (Concurrent Design), developed by NASA and then created the opportunity to adjust the basis of applications / industries. The method is a general partnership model that includes both tools, process control, and how we choose what skills need to be involved in the process.

To promote the truly innovative procurement processes requires an expanded and formalized cooperation between purchasers and suppliers, as well as best practices and tools to improve the quality of procurement. All this is supported by SMDP.
